Asset history

The asset history is the complete record of everything done to a piece of equipment: interventions, parts replaced, observations and failures, in order and with dates. It is what turns a series of loose visits into usable information.

Its first effect is on the visit itself: whoever arrives can see what was done last time, what was left pending and what has already been tried without success. The visit starts where the previous one ended instead of starting from zero, which is the most common cause of a second visit.

The second effect is on decisions. With history you can compare the accumulated cost of maintaining a machine against replacing it, and that comparison stops being the maintenance manager intuition and becomes a figure you can take into a meeting.
