In the search for technological upgrades and development of high-impact solutions for its customers, GoDoWorks developed a new feature for its field process geomanagement software, integrating artificial intelligence technology.

From its experience, GDW identified the challenges faced by companies in the control and certification of the use of safety implements and detected how artificial intelligence operates as a key and differential element in the management of workers in the field.

For this reason, GDW has developed its own image recognition tool, which allows companies to optimize the information they process, generating real-time data that is transformed into knowledge applied to rapid decision making and actions, optimizing time and reducing costs.

GDW's new feature uses artificial intelligence to identify from a photograph whether a worker in the field is complying with all required safety measures and is respecting the use of his or her Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Benefits of the new AI feature for field workers

For personnel operating in the field, this functionality allows them to take a selfie to ensure that they are using all the safety elements they need to carry out their work safely.

The software, through artificial intelligence, recognizes the elements of the safety equipment, certifying that each of the areas is covered, guaranteeing the protection of the employee. The system, through EPP Detection (Personal Protective Equipment Detection), identifies the equipment in real time, providing the necessary information.

Thus, if the system detects that any of the safety equipment is missing, it will issue an alert notifying the situation, notifying both the officer and the administrative personnel of the absence.

Benefits of the new AI feature for office equipment

With this system, and through a photograph taken with the cell phone, each worker in the field will certify their working conditions, ensuring that they have the safety equipment, which provides office staff with the verification that all field workers have the necessary protective equipment to perform their tasks on the street safely and without risk.

The system will issue an alert to the office staff every time it detects the lack of any of the safety equipment on one of the workers in the field, allowing quick, real-time action to be taken and the situation repaired, while making sure not to approve the operation of a worker who is not properly equipped.

Among the checklist performed by the artificial intelligence software is the verification of the following safety equipment:

• Head protection (safety helmet)
• Accessories (vests)
• Respiratory protection (face shield)

GDW's data collection system with artificial intelligence is configured to request a selfie-type photograph from each operator. Thus, when taking the picture, in real time, the system will determine if the safety and PPE conditions are met or not.

In the event of non-compliance, the system will send an alert and the operator will not be able to start his task and follow up on it using the GDW software without having repaired the situation and having full personal safety equipment.
